A master’s degree Minor in History and Theology of Old Catholicism

for students with an interest in early Catholic, that is, Old Catholic theology and history, as well as ecumenical networking

In the minor program History and Theology of Old Catholicism, students not only acquire in-depth knowledge of the history of the Old Catholic churches of the Union of Utrecht and their theological objectives, but also learn to apply ecclesiology and sacramental doctrine, liturgy, and develop an ecumenical profile. Students will learn to situate this knowledge theologically and historically and to relate it to church and ecumenical practice.

The master's degree minor in History and Theology of Old Catholicism can be combined with all degree programs, making it particularly suitable as a supplement and specialization to degree programs such as Inter-religious Studies, History, Philosophy, Religious Studies, or Classical Philology. It also provides an excellent opportunity for students who have obtained a theological degree at another university in Switzerland or abroad and want to gain specialized knowledge.
